A Seemly Ominous Prophecy Almost Costed A Preacher His Dear Life.

Tanzanian Preacher Abducted

An unknown preacher somewhere in Murieti Ward in the Arusha Municipal Council, known for his regular prophecies almost landed dead after his ominous presage was considered to have accursed the two police.

The preacher had foreseen two police officers dying but didn’t reveal how they would die. All these prophecies were recorded and uploaded in his YouTube channel and elsewhere. Then as a matter of tragic fate two police officers were struck dead by lightning somewhere in Babati, and the police were incensed. They added two and two to get four or five or six or seven. They came to a conclusion this was a hate crime towards all men in uniforms. Whoever killed their colleagues had to be taught a lifetime lesson. So, they went out searching for him.

In African culture where the spirit of tradition is dominant it is understandable when the police misdiagnosed curses amd presumed they were spelt upon them. Having been emboldened by a misdiagnosis, a corollary was obvious: seek the spell man and afflict a revenge.

Why revenge?

Having a witchcraft mentality, one is tied to the hip with a compulsion to extract a revenge. Someone has to pay, the saying goes. And, this is not new. Everybody who has paid a visit to a witch doctor will be familiar with a witch doctor paraphernalia of winning your hearts and minds. Most conspicuous in his diagnosis is blame game. Few are aware that the blame game is a spirit that materialize when God was hearing the first case against humanity in the Eden Garden.

Neither Adam nor his wife Eve took responsibility for their actions. Each one had someone else to blame to avoid taking personal responsibility. Adam, in fact, blamed both God and Eve. He blamed God for bringing a woman into his life. The reasons God brought a wife to him to obliterate loneliness never made sense to a man eager to abscond accountability.

Eve on her part had the Serpent to blame for beguiling her. Little attention did she pay to her own greed to be wise like God without facing the consequences of death. She was keen to pick a fruit and it was desirable to her eyesight to male her wise and immortal. That didn’t happen for both.

A witch doctor too is tortured with the ancient spirit of blame games. The first thing a witch doctor does is to enquire about close relatives, friends and neighbours. He needs to learn from your own mouth that at least they are alive before he turns you against some of them.

After knowing who is closer to you then he played you against some of them. He blames them for your unfortunate circumstances. He accuses them of bewitching you. The motive is always envy of your success. You are the victim of your own success. Then he pumps you with his unseen defences that you will never know whether they work or not. If they don’t, he will be accused of failing to observe an slate of instructions. Again, he resorts to blame games to keep you in check.

Our police too are victims of the spirit of witchcraft.

The victim didn’t point fingers but preferred to explain his predicament. In fact, when asked about who abducted him. In a pensive posturing, he played dumb insisting not to know them. Neighbours who were eyewitness had a story to share.

They said a Toyota hardtop without plate numbers came with a couple of mean looking faces, and had proceeded to their preacher’s house. Before they knew it, they heard their preacher shouting to the top of his voice: “…ninatekwa, ninatekwa, ninatekwa…”

His father who happens to be ten cell leader knew hos son’s life was in peril danger. He picked a stone amd hurled it to the fast departing car. He struck the rear window but the mysterious vehicle sped unrelenting. The father later said legally no one can be apprehended in his territorial jurisdiction without being physically involved. This is why he had thrown a stone to a departing car since the laws were broken.

His son was handcuffed, amd told in no uncertain terms that he was found to be murdered. He prayed unrelenting seeking divinely intervention. Whoever these people were didn’t reveal why they had kidnapped him keeping everybody guessing even today. We barely know theo motive beyond our own intelligent guessing. We have nothing to go on except our own fertile imagination.

This preacher, I have done my own homework over his foresight, amd I found it confounding. All of his predictions never materialized. Whatever he had foretold about the police was a matter of coincidence more than anything else. For example,  he had claimed the next president would be one Gwajima. Gwajima is a Sukumaland referring to a surname. We have two Gwajima with CCM, one male doubling as an MP and an Evangelical Bishop. The other is a female MP and a cabinet minister known for her anti-gender sermons. Neither of the two are heading to Ikulu, for obvious reasons.

Had his abductors took time to scour his sermons in the social media platforms they would have come to a logical conclusion,  whatever prophecies this preacher made had nothing to do with their colleagues’ tragedies but they didn’t!
